There is one moment that we have consciously reflected on time and again over the past few months: Every time someone signs up for our waiting list, a small window into the daily life of a stranger briefly opens for us. We see no names, no detailed stories—and yet we sense how varied and, at the same time, interconnected the reasons are for which people stop by Oxionix.
Some write to us because they manage multiple medications themselves and simply wish for an object that does not look like a medical aid. Others are caring for parents or a partner and are looking for something that creates reliability without changing the perception of the daily life of the person they are concerned about. And still others do not yet know anyone in their circle who needs a pill box—they simply like the idea that a thoughtful, beautiful object can exist for a topic like this.
What moves us most about these messages is not the number of registrations. It is the tone. No one writes to us with the expectations of a finished product. Most tell us instead: It’s great that this will exist soon. Take the time you need. It is precisely this trust that motivates us every single day to keep working on Oxionix—carefully, rather than quickly.
A community that forms before the product
Usually, a community forms around a product that already exists. For us, it is the other way around: The people who accompany us today were here before there was even anything to buy. This is a leap of faith that we do not take for granted. For us, it also means that with every decision—from the shape of the box to the color of the light signal—we keep in mind who we are actually building this for: for real people with real needs, not for an anonymous target group.
A small example that shows how much this shapes us: Several times in recent weeks, the desire for a reminder signal was described to us that does not feel like an alarm, but rather integrates calmly into everyday life. This is exactly the direction we are currently working in—not because we thought of it ourselves, but because it has been reflected back to us repeatedly. Such a single detail often tells us more about the "how" of a product than any market analysis could.
What happens next
We will continue to refine the material, function, and details, and we will continue to openly report on how this process is going. At the same time, we want to pause more often and do exactly what we are attempting with this post: to say thank you. Thank you for being curious. Thank you for giving us the time that good products require. And thank you for walking this path with us, even though you cannot yet hold the result in your hands.
If you are not yet on our waiting list and would like to follow how things progress, we would be pleased if you signed up. And if you are already part of it: Thank you for being here.
